Ted & Costa

I loved working with Ted and Costa on their special day and bringing their dreams to life. When we first met, Ted & Costa expressed their desire to get married at Costa's family home, located north of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We walked the property and I listened as they described their dream wedding. The property sits up high on a hill and has gorgeous vistas overlooking the Zirkel Mountains; it is a dreamy location for an outdoor ceremony. Yet as you can imagine, being on a hill also involves some steep terrain. We took out the measuring wheel and managed to mark out a space that could fit a tent for up to 50 people. It wasn't level but it could work! I won't lie - I was a little nervous (considering all the what if's!) but I trusted my gut instinct and as long as the guest list didn't expand, I knew we could make it work. And so, together, we brought Ted and Costa's dream wedding to life. Costa and Ted poured their heart and soul into their wedding from the etched geode name-cards, to the fun monogrammed M&M treats, hand-tailored suits monogrammed with their names and wedding date, and the personalized 'sip and solve' crossword to occupy guests during cocktail hour. Every decision was made with care and love. Unbound Floral worked with Ted and Costa to create amazing floral centerpieces and an unforgettable circular arch and Colorado Event Rentals went above and beyond and installed custom draping to bring Costa's vision to life.

One of my favorite moments was the inclusion of a 'Greek Moment' when shots of ouzo (a Greek alcohol) were handed out along with home-made Greek food (prepared by Costa's mother) and then Costa's parents took to the dance floor and led us through a traditional Greek dance. Costa's parents both have Greek roots and I always love figuring out how to incorporate family traditions and cultural aspects in a wedding. I also loved watching Ted and Costa waking in the rain with umbrellas and enjoying a quiet moment together. The night ended with s'mores and hot drinks around a campfire. The perfect way to end a fall wedding!
